come on! we have all voted once! we cant vote again…
I’m a tad confused now as to where this project is at, but here are my votes for the remaining 29 films from the list given: Silence of the Lambs, The Exorcist, MASH, Edward Scissorhands, Straw Dogs, Some Like it Hot, Spartacus, Bull Durham, Do the Right Thing, King Kong (original), Rashoman, Modern Times, Mr. Smith goes to Washington, Jurassic Park, Memento, Midnight Cowboy, The Royal Tennenbaums, Blazing Saddles, 8 ½, Rebel without a Cause, Notorious, Double Indemnity, Brazil, Metropolis, The Great Escape, Fargo, Dances with Wolves, To Kill a Mockingbird, Annie Hall … what’s next?
When I suggested ‘Equilibrium’ I didn’t really check the rest of the list, assuming that ‘ The Princess Bride’ was there…I mean…its probably the second most quoted movie ever other than Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail.
No Princess Pride ? ….prepare to die.
Atreyu from The Neverending Story is also crying some tears in his flying dog’s fur.
Everybody,Vote for these movies…
Say Anything,Seven,Edward Scissorhands,Straw Dogs,Some Like it Hot,Spartacus
Do the Right Thing,King Kong (original),Rashoman,Lucky Number Slevin,Animal House,Tootsie,Memento,ET,Schindlers List,Goonies,Midnight Cowboy,Boondock Saints,The Royal Tennenbaums,8 1/2,Rebel without a Cause,Brazil,Metropolis
American Beauty,The Great Escape,Fargo,The Green Mile,Dr. Zhivago
They have to be on the geek list!
back when I got my wisdom teeth taken out The Neverending Story was playing in the recovery room at the doctors office, and I started simultaneously laughing and crying uncontrollably at how much I loved everything that was happening on screen. The fact that I was on a payload of surgery drugs and couldn’t even walk out of the office on my own doesn’t lessen the fact that the movie is just pure fucking fantastic.
I had Princess Bride on my original list. I love that movie and own the DVD.
Here is mine, not sure how many I can vote for:
Boondock Saints
The Royal Tennenbaums
Stripes
Caddyshack
Edward Scissorhands
Lucky Number Slevin
Armageddon
Tootsie
Brazil
Metropolis
Fargo
Boondock Saints should definitely make it..fantastic flick!
Children of Men probably deserves a nod. and something by Roger Corman or Jack Hill.
and shouldn’t Vertigo be on the list by now? i’m pretty sure there were enough votes for it…
Die Hard; Blazing Saddles; Schindler’s List; The Great Escape; Dances with Wolves. And I think Eastern Promises had a second and a third on the original thread. I’m thinking Shennanigans are in order. And it’s also probably too big of a task with too many conflicting preferences to work out well in the end.
Here are my 29 votes:
Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Godfather, Alien, Jaws, The Graduate, Top Gun, Back to the Future, Stripes, Caddyshack, Die Hard, The Exorcist, MASH, Jurassic Park, Animal House, Tootsie, ET, Midnight Cowboy, Toy Story, Blazing Saddles, The Sixth Sense, American Beauty, The Lion King, Titantic, Fargo, The Green Mile
This was very hard narrowing down your list!
Pam..you must follow directions…your first 11 are locked and on the list. Pick from the second group. So what are your other 11? Nice call on Tootsie what about Slevin?
Okay – I will read the directions next time! I was being like a man!
Here are my 29 votes:
Batman, Stripes, Caddyshack, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Die Hard,X-Men The Exorcist, MASH, Lucky Number Slevin, Jurassic Park, Animal House, Tootsie, Gone with the Wind, ET, Midnight Cowboy, Toy Story, Singing in the Rain, West Side Story, Blazing Saddles, The Sixth Sense, American Beauty, The Lion King, Titantic, Fargo, Dancing with Wolves, The Green Mile, Annie Hall, The Sound of Music, Field of Dreams
put The Royal Tennenbaums on the top tier.cause it a fuckin brilliant movie.
Here is my list:
Caddyshack, Die Hard, The Exorcist, The Fugitive, Lucky Number Slevin, ET, Toy Story, The Lion King, Titanic, Scarface, The Sound of Music
I think Smokey and the Bandit should be on the list myself.
