Discuss: Is ‘The Dark Knight’ the greatest movie of all-time?
According to users on IMDB, they have rated ‘The Dark Knight’ as the best movie ever. Would you agree that ‘The Dark Knight’ is better than the movies listed below it:
Honestly, I don’t think I could rate this movie higher than ‘The Godfather’, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, and ‘Pulp Ficition’.
What do you guys think? Do you see this as the greatest movie of all time? It is a little skewed, numbers 2 and 3 have 5-6 times as many votes as ‘The Dark Knight’ so the numbers will go down over time.
It’s the best comic-based film of all time..but I can’t put it above Pulp Fiction, Shawshank, or Godfather 1&2. I would put it in the top 15 all time, but no way is it number 1…Maybe if Charles is running the poll. Are you sure he hasn’t been photo shopping like you were with Dolph?????
I still haven’t seen it, i’m in England GOD DAMN IT, I suppose when looking at the film you have to think about how relevent it is for the time it was made, and I hear that The Dark Knight asks some serious questions about the world we live in, and when someone of my age (24) watches the Godfather I enjoy it but I don’t relate to it because it was way before my time, and I think a lot of people will watch this film and take something away without even knowing it, like questions mainly my boyee in the states said he was questioning his whole opinion on war and mans need for power all weekend and thats just one person. I don’t know if I will think it’s the best film ever but I really hope I do because it’s about time someone made something to rival some of the old classics, although Shawshank does, it gives me goosebumps.
the IMDB ratings and comments boards are notoriously brain-dead, let’s not give them credence by pretending, even for a moment, that they are somehow indicative of the general public’s perspective on films. there are so many examples of misinformed and deliberate attempts to skew the ratings of various films on there for the stupidest reasons imaginable that I just avoid the whole thing as a rule.

No it can’t be the best because One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was AH-mazing. Sure Heath Ledger’s Joker dominated Jack Nicholson’s Joker. It doesn’t mean that makes it better. I agree with Ram Man about the whole top comic book movie. They people on IMDB just are like “ooo, heath ledger’s last movie it was sooooo good.” When really it was so good and the Godfather was really sooooo good. And there is a good chance that they have never seen most of the movies on that list.
Looks like someone forgot to add in all of Charle’s trips to see it..Now the opening total in 158 million!
its not as good as Xanadu, just ask Ram Man when he takes a break from singing and roller skating…

Hey chicky! put Rudy on pause so that you can read this…EW last week ..the back page..The Must see list..#8 Xanadu on DVD! I’m not the only one. I’m sure they will sell a few thousand tickets to the new ELO tour! I know it’s not Rudy…it’s better! And don’t take shots at The Dark Knight…Bale is out on bail and may come after you next!
PS…I don’t skate (as you know very well) If I need to get somewhere I will drive! But put a hot muse in front of me I may think about it..only think about it though!
