Bale’s Arrest and ‘Terminator: Salvation’

McG posted an update just yesterday morning at 8am  on the Terminator: Salvation website. He states, “Every morning and every night Christian and I work on the story.” Really? When’s this? When Bale’s not in London allegedly being verbally abusive to his mother and sister? Or when he’s not attending Dark Knight premieres? While  some subscribe to the notion  that Bale’s “the most bankable movie star”, wasn’t it nice back in the day when actors were ACTORS and not writers!?!?!?! McG works on the story with Bale???? Seriously???? for what reason? he’s some great scribe we didn’t know about?

So…in light of the recent news of Christian Bale’s arrest, how will this affect the shooting schedule? Wonder what McG would’ve posted 24 hours later?

Prometheus
We are half way through filming. Our teaser is in theaters and playing
before The Dark Knight.

You will see that this is a movie inspired by the first films, but is a true new beginning in that it takes place in the future.

All three Terminator films took place present day, with Terminators
traveling back in time to attack. This picture takes place after Judgment
Day. It happened. Everything is gone. The story of the movie is the “brink
moment” Reese always talked about.

From a technical perspective, we have set out to achieve a completely new
visual style that hasn’t been seen before. We’re shooting the film on color
stock but are using a method inspired by the Oz process which was developed
at Technicolor by Mike Zacharia and Bob Olson. Basically we are adding three
times as much silver. It creates a surreal texture that is in keeping with
the notion of the entire picture – feeling detached from the world we know
today.

Every morning and every night Christian and I work on the story. Sam’s
contribution has been excellent. We are committed to putting the story and
character first and then supplementing that with action and visual effects.
It is our intention to make a film on a large scale with the nuance and
subtext of a high quality independent picture.

The richness of the story is really coming out now. It’s a Prometheus tale
really, how creating life creates real responsibility – and if left
unchecked, can be our undoing.

The entire crew takes the making of this film very seriously. I made a point
of hiring key personnel that are passionate about getting this right.
Everyone is well versed in the mythology.

Comicon is this weekend. I look forward to sharing the film with the
passionate.

  1. Maybe they are reading scenes over the phone…You do get a phone call in the UK too ..don’t you?????

  2. Michelle says:

funny Ram Man….of course a phone call….from jail…to your lawyer

  3. Panda Hugger says:

maybe McG is a lawyer! Hell, Christian Bale is a writer all of a sudden….why the hell not??

  4. Christian Bale is the man..even if he does hit his mom and his sister. Maybe they deserved it! Maybe they were bad mouthing his deep raspy batman voice!

  5. Maybe they came to the premiere with white face paint and red lipstick…so he Bat-slapped them!

  6. Michelle says:

HAHA….or he just went off them…probably called them ungrateful bloodsucking loser family members trying to cash in on his success…

  7. bale is a very collaborative artist, I don’t necessarily think him and McG are having writer’s club sessions, so much as discussions about the story in regards to the character of John Connor, right?

Regardless, McG can probably use all the help he can get, so don’t complain! Although I am glad he is committed to not messing this one up.

  8. I’m totally looking forward to seeing the new Terminator… Christian Bale tends to do a great job no matter what role he takes
