‘The Happening’ … not so happening anymore.
Look at the sad, depressed expression on their faces… its not because its the end of the world (well maybe M Night’s), its because ‘The Happening’ had a 67% drop off in numbers this week. That is depressing for all you Shyamalan minions. Hey Michelle..who called that one?!
Let me answer that one….WE DID!!!!!!!
At Mongul we said it was going to drop like a cemnt block in the ocean, we said 75% and sure enough..a 67% drop. It couldn’t beat the Love Guru!
thats right! sorry you M night lovers..there is no coming back from this one..unless he changes the movie and releases it with an ending that makes sense! but that just isnt feasible for the greatest b movie ever made.
The Happening continues to bring in the money at the box-office as the new weekend studio estimates place it in the Top 5 Films with $10 million for the weekend. That brings its domestic total to $50.3 million, making it the 3rd biggest rated-R movie of the year. Worldwide figures are currently listed at $81.7 million……and here ends the lesson.
where did the lesson begin? That also sounds sort of like a baseball stat “Did you know that ‘The Happening’ was the third biggest movie R rated movie to open up on friday the 13th on an even year, in the last 5 years.”
zzzzz…uh I must have dozed off..we are in a lesson??? The 3rd biggest “R” rated movie of the year is now accomplishment since the industry knows nothing good comes out in February thru April..It the movies Black Hole! Sarah Marshall which was a nice suprise @ 2 in April. So it’s like say the Cardinals are having a great season , but they are really playing highschool teams! Like it’s box office number The Happening’s ranking (just barely ahead of The Strangers) is going to drop like a rock! Wanted, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express,Tropic Thunder all guarenteed to go over 50 million! Lesson continues!
