Roger Ebert is off his rocker..

He decided that ‘The Happening’ should receive a higher rating than ‘The Incredible Hulk’. He is getting up there in age, but Mr Ebert, this is a NEW hulk..they arent just rescreening the old Ang Lee version.
Here he gives ‘The Incredible Hulk’ 2 1/2 stars.
Here he gives ‘The Happening’ 3 stars.
“I suspect I’ll be in the minority in praising this film. It will be described as empty, uneventful, meandering.”
You are correct sir.

Isn’t he recovering from a near fatal stroke????
Must be lingering effects…or some one slipped in Ang Lee’s version and told him it was the new one!
Maybe he’s like our local critic that leaves during the film a reviews it not seeing the complete film???I wonder????
Remeber Ebert hated Star Wars…not a good source of information!
Yeah, he kind of reminds me of that local reviewer. How is it possible to write a full review of a movie when you dont see the last 20 minutes? “its going to be anarchy”
Take it easy on Ebert. He’s recovering from cancer, not a stroke. I haven’t seen The Happening yet, but I’m interested in seeing why everyone’s upset about it. [Don't give anything away, please.] By the way, not everyone liked Star Wars. The only one of the six that I “really” like is Empire Strikes back … but, they’re all fun on some level.
Bitter…party of 2…bitter…party of two…..
No love for Shyamalan….shocker…..ca’mon Ram Man!!
Star Wars was 30 yrs ago…..time to move on…the two of you would’ve been singing Mr. Ebert’s praises if his review was bashing M. Night’s The Happening. You guys are all in a lather over The Hulk…wash the soap outta your eyes
cancer ..stroke..bottom line he’s touched in the sqwab!
as for you Mrs. Shaymalan…you liked “chick in the pool” so you are not a partial judge..let me know what you think after torturing through it tonight! As for the “Holy Trilogy” it stays fresh because George keeps updating the series..look out for the clone wars..some take Rogers pass away from him for that one!
There is nothing that would make me praise Roger Ebert, unless of course he quits reviewing movies.
I miss Gene..the true critic of the duo and the anchor of the show! Roper is ok…maybe they need to freshen it up with a couple of “Geeks” and a movie round-table!
bring it Ram Man….it’s ON now, baby
Yeah its on..like “Donkey Kong” Babe!
Siskel died and took the credibility for the two with him!
That’s they way it is ..cause Ram Man Says So!
The Ram Man has spoken.
this is not the end……
the battle goes on….
Mrs. Shyamalan has spoken!
Don’t sing it….
BRING IT!
step up to the plate sister..see if you can hit the fast ball!
HEY!!!
Dont talk about my sister that way…HAHAHHAHAHHAHAA
I haven’t even opened that can of woop-ass yet.
Why don’t you call for back up!
That is just what the site nees an opinion from Mel on the “left” coast!
She’s probably too busy hugging her panda!
“As for the “Holy Trilogy†it stays fresh because George keeps updating the series..”
speaking of touched in the head, if you think George Lucas’ sad attempt to keep his cash cow selling toys, comics and t-shirts long beyond the point of anybody caring is somehow keeping it “fresh”, then you might be the one with the issues. sometimes the thrall of geekdom extends well past the point of quality perception and critical thinking and into the realm of mindless fan worship. does George Lucas really think I care about more uninspired story elements jammed in between Episode 2 and Episode 3, when I already have plenty to complain about what happened in both of the actual movies? can’t you see by now that somewhere on Skywalker Ranch, George Lucas is laughing at you, laughing at this conversation and laughing at your willingness to support his complete lack of effort with your money into the foreseeable future?
as for the Hulk, if you really just want to watch some physical carnage because Ang Lee’s attempt at a little introspection was really so painful, just stay home, save yourself 12 bucks and recreate the ‘chair wrestling’ scene from Gummo and you’ll probably be just as satisfied.
end of rant. :)
as Roman Moroni said in Johnny Dangerously…..this is fargin war!!!
You tell him Brett!!
hmmm….sounds like someone, who shall be nameless, but whose initials are Ram Man, didn’t like “the chick in the pool”
movie because the critic in that movie, like ALL movie critics deserved what he got…a little too close to home? That’s what I thought.
Seriously,The Happening was great!I liked Hulk as well, Enough with the bashing on M.Night and Ebert.
DAMN,this is the most comments we have ever had on a post!
Thank you Charles…Ram Man knows I love M. Night’s movies….ALL OF THEM
Panda hugger…How are you Mel!
I like m.Night as the Mrs. knows and as both of you know The chick in the pool was BAD.
Brett nice rant…the only thing Ang had going was the way he did the movie, it was like reading a giant comic..he just needed some action.
Hey ..george needs to pay for his divorce and send his kid through college..not to mention that Bronze Yoda statue in the old Presidio in SF must have cost a pretty penny. I think there is only one more update now that the battle has been fought..BLUERAY.
Charles..look at you trying to referee…Jabba the critic ,Ebert should expect this kind of discussion.
What shall we talk about next?
haha, if this goes much longer we’ll have to link to the forums…
who you callin Jabba the critic?
