I don’t think he is the most bankable, but he is close to the top. He is an amazing actor with a large body of impressive work and he isn’t even 35 yet! I think the best is yet to come from him. Doesn’t hurt that he is absolutely gorgeous and has that sexy accent. He was even amazing as a child actor. Please check out Empire of the Sun if you have not. That is just my female perspective. Bamn!!!! Geek slapped by Scott! Batman Begins was such a strong performance that people went to see Rescue Dawn, The Prestige and yes the Dark Knight because Bale is starring. Yes there are some Ledger fans going for Heaths final performance, but the majority of the Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of people are there for the guy behind the mask.

Nope, people went to see Batman Returns for Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer and Christopher Walken. People went to see Batman Begins they liked Christian Bale and wanted to see what he could do. If George Clooney had stayed Batman..people would have stayed home.

you guys are delirious…..you both seriously think that people went to Batman Returns or will see Dark Knight just for Bale? And how about Terminator 4?? Most will be seeing Terminator: Salvation cuz they love the series – they want to see a continuation of the story. And not because it has Christian Bale in it. Anyone could’ve been cast as the new John Connor. Average movie goers are in it for previously proven franchises….while Bale is an actor and Smith is a star, and yes, there is a difference, Bale was lucky to be cast for both films. Bale is class-A actor, no doubt, but a studio will green-light any project that Smith is attached to.

Put down the Rum and move slowly away from the keyboard… Hancock will no way make as much as the Dark Knight! It’s not possible. The fresh Prince has better name recognition, but Bale can sell a movie just on his name. Rescue Dawn was pretty much a solo effort with Zahn around to get the coffee. Hancock will make more than The Dark Knight’s 100 million plus opening weekend…but it will take them 2 weeks! Hows The Happening doing?? A giant among midgets. Ok I’m better now… Go after the Bat and call down the thunder! :)

Not the most. That title goes to Wlll Smith. Bale can’t sell a movie on his name alone like Smith can. And while Dark Knight will have huge b.o. numbers, it won’t come close to Hancock.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He makes everything he touches better. He took an ok franchise and made it into a blockbuster in Batman,. He made 3:10 to Yuma, Rescue dawn and the Prestige excellent movies. Granted he had some pretty good co-stars , but I believe, when he works with them their performance is dialed up a notch!
