George Carlin … RIP

Scott:

One of my favorite all time comedians has died of heart failure at 71.

Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, went into St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain and died later that evening, said his publicist, Jeff Abraham. He had performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas.

He produced 23 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, three books, a couple of TV shows and appeared in several movies, from his own comedy specials to “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” in 1989 — a testament to his range from cerebral satire and cultural commentary to downright silliness (and sometimes hitting all points in one stroke).

In honor of Mr Carlin..lets talk about your favorite George Carlin moments or lines from over the years..We will miss you…

Ram Man:

Comic Genius George Carlin has had his last curtain call and left us this past weekend. Carlin who was best known for the famous “seven words you can’t say on TV” and “Stuff”. George had a unique way of putting a comic spin on current world events. Carlin was also a fine actor appearing in such Geek faves as Jersey Girl, Dogma, Car Wash and Bill and Ted’s adventures wouldn’t have been as fun without the “most excellent” Rufus. George Carlin died at the Santa Monica Hospital at the age of 71 from heart failure.  Mr. Carlin, the world isn’t as funny without you in it sir…You will be missed!

  1. There are so many great George Carlin movies, and id have to say one of the most surprising was his role as the Dad/Grandpa in ‘Jersey Girl’..to see such a foul mouthed comedian in an endearing role really made me laugh.

  2. Mine was the futuristic Carlin..I loved Rufus. Strange things were afoot at the Circle K. He was hilarious as the Cabbie in Car Wash. And for the wee geeks, they probably don’t know but he was Fillmors in Cars! I haven’t been this depressed since Sam Kennison passed.

  3. I heard about this on MSN last night as soon it was posted. I tried praying to Joe Pesci to no avail. George was my 2nd favorite comedian of all time and my heart sank when I read the breaking news headline. The absolutely worst part of it all for me was that I was in Vegas last week for my 21st birthday and I tried to convice my dad to get us tickets to see him at The Orleans and we didn’t. I don’t know about you guys, but I am actually wearing black today. RIP George.

  4. Yeah man..its tough. We actually tried to arrange an interview with him a couple months ago and his publicist said when he was done with his book we could arrange something. Sadly it will not come to fruition.

  5. Carlin is a comedian god, and I will show my respects by watching his videos tonight, praying to Joe Pesci, and eating raccoon assholes. I won’t really be eating raccoon assholes, and probably no one will understand that, but that’s alright, maybe one day.

  6. Kevin, just take solice in the fact that there is a “Hell” of a party going on somewhere in the after-life with George and Sam surrounded by beauties living it up …or so to say. To you Rufus…I raise my Glass and yell out those lovely seven words!

  7. Lets face it Ram Man, it probably won’t be a bunch of beauties. Like Carlin said, he never banged a 10, but one night he banged five 2’s. And Kevin, I just got back from the mall and the sauteed raccoon assholes were superb. And maybe during the party in his afterlife, someone will ask him how he’s doing and he can finally reply, “fine and dandy”!
