‘Dead Like Me’ … DTV Movie
Dead Like Me was a great series that I gleefully watched straight through on DVD. I proudly own both seasons on DVD, but was saddened to learn that the show was killed after only two seasons. So, what the heck am I writing about TV shows for on a movie blog?
A direct-to-DVD feature-length movie based on the Dead Like Me series is currently in production. Unfortunately, Mandy Patinkin will not return in the role of the wise and sharp-tongued head reaper Rube Sofer, but three of the four original actors will return to play the reapers he mentored. Daisy Adair will be played by Sarah Wynter instead of Laura Harris. The difference is, now that Rube has moved on, they must deal with an annoying new head reaper that none of them like. I am looking forward to the return of Georgia “George” Lass, played by Ellen Muth, and her sarcastic wit.
