Extreme Hollywood Makeover: Anthony Michael Hall
You tell me … is this the same guy? The answer is, yes. On the left, we have Anthony Michael Hall as Brian, the nerdy bookworm in The Breakfast Club (1985). On the right, we have Anthony Michael Hall posing as his new, made-over muscle-clad b-movie action star persona. Anthony’s big break with this “new” persona was as Johnny Smith in the TV series based on the Stephen King novel Dead Zone. Now, with an undisclosed role in the upcoming Dark Knight, AMH could get more work in major movies. Personally, I hope this does happen. I actually enjoyed the Dead Zone series.

I first notice Anthony Michael Hall’s transformation when he showed up in Edward Scizzorhands as the asshole, bully boyfriend. It was shocking enough to see him being the tough guy, but on top of that he had built up a great body. He was no longer the skinny weakling.
He’s been showing a bit of diversity too, playing Bill Gates in “Pirates of Silicon Valley” and baseball pitcher Whitey Ford in “*61″
About his role in Dark Knight
Anthony Michael Hall will be playing a reporter named Mike Engel. Presumably, Engel will have a function similar to Alexander Knox, the reporter played by Robert Wuhl, in the original ’89 Batman. Hall and Maggie Gyllenhaal have gone on to say that there’s a surprise in store from the character he plays.- Imdb.com
