Page & Murphy to Co-Star in ‘Peacock’

Ellen Page & Cillian Murphy

Mandate Pictures has a new psychological thriller in the works called Peacock. The movie will be directed by Michael Lander, but what has me interested is the cast. The movie will co-star Ellen Page (Hard Candy, Juno) and Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins, Sunshine). Shooting is expected to begin in may 2008. I predict this will be a very good thriller, baring any directorial missteps, because I believe Page and Murphy are two of the most exciting young actors working today. Both have the potential to become legendary actors if they maintain the high-caliber pace of their performances so far. In case you aren’t familiar with Cillian Murphy, his work to date includes 28 Days Later, Cold Mountain, Red Eye, The Wind that Shakes the Barley and the forth-coming The Dark Knight.

[The title is derived from tiny Peacock, Neb., where Murphy's character, a split personality, fools the town into believing his two alter egos are man and wife. Page plays a struggling young mother who holds the key to his past and sparks a battle between the personalities.] — Variety
