‘Arrested Development’ The Movie

Just so you know, Kristin Dos Santos of E! News reports that Mitch Hurwitz and Ron Howard, the creative heads of TV’s Arrested Development are beginning talks to get the big-screen treatment of the show started. Jason Bateman confirms being approached by the show heads to take on the project:

“I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started,” Bateman says. “Any talk is targeting a post-strike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it’s a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed.”

In an XM Radio interview, Arrested Development co-star Jefferey Tambor also mentioned being approached by Ron Howard to take up his role again as patriarch Donald Bluth. So, while Fox may have dropped the ball on one of the best series it’s ever had, at least fans have something to look forward too. Speaking of Fox, here’s some choice words from David Cross on the subject:
